Szekely Bertalan Street Apartment
This 2 room apartment (54 sqm) is recently renovated and beautifully decorated with a mix of new furniture and antique artwork. It is spacious for 2 guests, and can accommodate up to 4 persons comfortably.
The first floor apartment faces onto a quiet side street in Pest, less than 5 minutes from the World Heritage Listed Andrassy Street with its historic Metro service. The apartment is on the edge of the Old Diplomatic Quarter with its numerous Secessionist buildings, and the City Park, Szechenyi Baths and City Zoo are less than 10 min walk or 3 min on the Metro. Oktogon and the bars and restaurants of Liszt Ferenc Square and Opera are either 15 min walk or 5 min on the Metro.
The spacious bedroom has a queen sized double bed, and 5 East and South facing windows fill the apartment with light. The main living room has an L-shaped sofa converting into a comfortable double bed, dining table for four, and a stereo with a small collection of CD's. The fully equipped kitchen faces into the living room, and has everything you will need for up to 4 people including crockery, wine & champagne glasses, cooking pans, coffee maker, toaster, microwave, gas stovetop burners and electric oven and a large refrigerator with freezer. The bathroom has a large corner bath with over-bath shower, sink & toilet. A safety deposit box is installed for valuables (you create your own number code at arrival).
Washing machine and ironing facilities and very effective central heating are included, and all linen is supplied. This apartment has no TV.
A free printed gay map and general information are supplied upon arrival. It's gay owned and operated and at check-in we take the time to answer all your general and gay related questions about Budapest. The staff is fluent English speaking and always reachable by mobile phone for assistance. Open all year, check-in on agreement, reservations in advance required.

The Szekely Bertalan apartment is located in the central 6th district, between the City Centre and the City Park. The M1 Metro line and beautiful Andrassy Utca are only a few minutes walk away, and the City Park, with the Zoo, Szechenyi Baths and Heroes Square is within 10 minutes walk.
Szekely Bertalan is a quiet, one way street named after a famous Hungarian painter. Several small supermarkets and a post office are located very close to the apartment.

Airport
For transfer from the airport you can choose between the 'Airport Minibus' service and the airport taxi service 'Zona Taxi'. Both will bring you directly to the the address.
Airport Minibus: The best price for single traveller. Passengers are taken to the previously requested address by microbuses with eight to eleven seats. The rate is 2100 Forint per person (appr. EUR 8) from the airport to every address in the center of Budapest. It takes about 35 minutes, as the airport is in the outskirts. You'll find the Minibus desk after you've passed the custom. Seat reservation is not nessessary before arrival at the airport. If you already know when you'll need to go back to the airport you may purchase a Minibus return ticket for 3600 Forints.
Zona Taxi: The best price if you are 2 or more. Prices are fixed for airport taxis. Dembinszky Street is located in Zone 2 and your fare should cost not more than 3500 Forints (appr 14 Euros). You can exchange money at the airport. The fares are the maximum fares in Forints which Zona Service is allowed to charge. The journeys will also be metered, and if the meter shows a lower fare, then passengers will only pay the lower fare.
Train Stations
There are 3 different train stations in Budapest: Keleti (East), Nyugati (West) and Deli (South). See the taxi listing within our guide webpage if you like to take a cab from the station.
If you arrive at KELETI station: Take the Metro M2 three stops to Deak Ter, and change to the M1. Take the M1 to Kodaly Korond station, and then walk to the apartment (less than 5 minutes). As you exit the Metro station Szinyei Merse utca is the street on your left. Walk down Szinyei Merse street for three blocks, and turn right into Szondi utca. Take the first left into Szekely Bertalan utca, and the apartment is on the right halfway down the street.
If you arrive at NYUGATI station: The apartment is about ten minutes walk from the station, simply turn left out of the station onto Terez korut, and then first left into Podmaniczky utca. Szekely Bertalan is a turning on the right, 9 blocks up Podmaniczky. Alternatively the number 72 trolley bus runs up Podmaniczky. Catch the trolley bus from the corner of Terez and Podmaniczky. The second stop is Szinyei Merse street, which is one street short of Szekely Bertalan.
If you arrive at DELI station: Take the Metro M2 to Deak Ter, and change to the M1 line. Take this to Kodalay Korond station (less than 5 minutes). As you exit the Metro station Szinyei Merse utca is the street on your left. Walk down Szinyei Merse for three blocks, and turn right into Szondi utca. Take the first left into Szekely Bertalan utca, and the apartment is on the right halfway down the street.
Car & Parking
The best would be if you get a map. Szekely Bertalan Street is a inbound one way street. That means, you can drive from the cities park to downtown, but not the other direction. The parallel street (Dohány utca) goes the other direction. No problem to find a parking space on the street. Also a 24h guarded parking area is close to the apartment: In Szekely Bertalan utca between Rottenbiller utca & Bethlen Gábor utca. The fee is 100 Forint per hour. Changes possible.
